There has been limited interest confirmed in an event at
Newton on Sunday, and the weather forecast is not ideal, with some rain and
showers likely (although moderate westerly winds), so on balance I suggest we
call this off. We can revisit this next year if there is sufficient interest.

Eight boats joined the Newton Pursuit race yesterday, won in fine style by Medmerry. The conditions were ideal and we had a fast sail both ways and an enjoyable lunch stop at Newton There is a proposal for a bank holiday Barbeque again at Newton next Sunday afternoon/evening. A number of people have expressed an interest in this and it would be good to hear from other people who would like to join in and/or help with the arrangements.

There would be the option of sailing up and anchoring overnight or coming up by other transport. I would suggest that we aim to get started on the beach around 5pm, using the club BBQ , plates etc and a folding table or two and with everyone bringing food and drink for themselves or to share. A beach rounders game could be an option, and as with any BBQ the weather will need to be considered also!
