Saturday's Race (12th) and Next Weekend - Newton Pursuit

Written by

Weather stopped play today, nasty sea and heavy winds. Race postponed.

Hopefully that's the one dud of the year, Newton pursuit next week.

I'm going to run this traditionally as a pursuit so the idea is all boats get a start time based on your handicap then the first boat that gets to the finish wins. So the slower boats set away first and the bigger boats have to catch up. The purists don't like this cos it's a bit of a guess but it's much more fun and offers more of a lottery on the winner.

With this in mind could interested boats let me know so start times can be calculated

If your not a racer why not come up for a cruise. If you haven't been before you should do, Newton is a haven in the true sense boasting tranquillity crossed with the most amazing country pub serving ace crab saris, home brew ale all in front of the spectacular backdrop of Dunstonburgh castle. It's a special place.

Season is unfortunately running out so this is a must do to grab the last of the summer

Also anyone looking to crew, there's always boats looking so let me know and I'll fix you up
